Welcome to the Truman’s Social Club in Blackhorse Lane!

Opened on the 4th July, we serve up our ice-cold fresh beer alongside a range of wine, spirits and softs in our sunny Beer Garden. We’re also delighted to be working with a rotational selection of local street food traders who will be serving up amazing dishes – check out @trumanssocialclub for latest info on who is trading. It's the perfect place to catch up with mates, drink, eat and enjoy the sunshine (fingers crossed!).  Please note the if the weather is inclement, we don't have cover outside yet.

Fortunately, we had a blank canvas to work with, so the space has been purposefully designed to be COVID Secure whilst feeling comfortable to relax in.

Whilst we all enjoy the garden, our build team are converting a large part of the warehouse which will also house our new brewery (due to start brewing here in 2021) into a beautifully designed space to bring the experience inside. We’re aiming to get the first stage of that open in late August.

We really want this to be a versatile venue for the community to enjoy and get involved in – the space is flexible and alongside our pub we plan to hold film screenings, live music and much more!

When are you open?

Our opening hours are currently:

  • Wednesday 17:00 - 22:00
  • Thursday 17:00 - 23:00
  • Friday 15:00 - 00:00
  • Saturday 12:00 - 00:00
  • Sunday 12:00 - 22:00

Please note, food is served until 9pm and last orders at the bar are 30 minutes prior to closing time stated above. On Wednesday 29 July we will only be serving drinks & bar snacks, on all following Wednesdays, we will have food vendors with us.

Is the Social Club Covid-19 secure?

Absolutely. The space has been especially designed to comply with the latest Government guidelines into account to make it as safe as possible.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Yes whenever possible we do and we have some seats held back for walk-ins. To guarantee entry we strongly recommend booking whenever possible, especially on peak days (Thurs-Sat), to avoid disappointment!

Are children allowed?

Yes we are family friendly and want this to be a place that everyone can enjoy. We also have plenty of high chairs, just let the team know when checking in if you require one.

Do you allow dogs?

Yes we love dogs! All we ask is that you keep them on their lead. If you need any water for your dog, please ask a member of the team and we'll sort this.

How do I place an order?

We operate full table service for all food and drink. On your arrival, our friendly team will talk you through the process and you'll be able to place and pay for your order at your table. Our staff will then bring everything to you - perfect!

Is there a booking fee?

Initially we operated a £5 per person booking deposit which could be redeemed against a free pint of our beer or soft drink. We have now changed this to a charge hold on the booker's card of £10 per person which we will only charge if you do not arrive for your booking or cancel within 24 hours of your booking. This also means you and your group can order whatever you want when you arrive so it's hopefully a better system. To be honest, we'd love not to do this, but we unfortunately have to in order to avoid "no shows" - when someone makes a reservation somewhere and just doesn't turn up - we've had an amazing amount of demand and are super thankful for all of the support, but at times like these, we simply cannot afford to be turning away bookings and end up with empty tables. Even with this system in place, we still get no shows, if you are unable to make it please do cancel your booking as per below as we'll open your table up to other people that want it. 

What if I need to cancel my booking?

We understand that things happen and plans need to change. You can cancel your booking via the link in the booking confirmation email you'll receive, or you can email us and the team will process the cancellation.for you. If you cancel within 24 hours of our booking you may still be charged the £10 per person booking deposit.

What if it rains?

Unfortunately we cannot control the weather (we wish we could!), and until we open indoors in late August we have very little cover from inclement weather. If it is a wash out on the day of your booking, we will be in touch to rearrange your booking. Fingers crossed for glorious sunshine!

Do you need my name and address?

We are required to collect your personal information and hold it for 21 days; it will only be shared with to assist NHS Test and Trace with requests for that data if needed. We will then destroy the data after 21 days, and it will not be used for any marketing purposes, unless you've given us explicit permission by opting when placing your booking.
